We've taken to visiting stone circles recently, a pastime known as 'stone bothering'. Today we went to meet the Grey Ladies, otherwise known as Nine Stones Close. Only four stones remain in the circle, but a fifth resides nearby as part of a wall complete with a hinge for a long disappeared gate.

Robin Hood's Stride can be seen in the background of some of the photos, legend has it that Hoody used to leap from one rock to the other.
Whilst we were photographing the stones we fell into conversation with a chap that came to record the stones, that is mic. them up and record the sounds that the stones made/amplified from the earth. We listened to some of those sounds after returning home, he has a website and an Instagram account where he shares his findings and photographs. All quite fascinating!
